Everest Base Camp
The trek to Everest Base Camp is one of the world’s most iconic high-altitude journeys,leading deep into the heart of the Khumbu in the Himalayas. The trail passes through Sherpa villages, suspension bridges, and ancient monasteries, with constant views of towering peaks including Mount Everest. Trekkers gradually gain altitude before reaching the famous base camp at 5,364 m, where climbers from around the world gather before attempting Everest. It’s a challenging but non-technical trek that combines Himalayan culture, dramatic landscapes, and the unforgettable feeling of standing at the foot of the world’s highest mountain.
On this trek, you pass through the Khumbu region (also known as the Everest Region). It lies in northeast Nepal. You will find Sherpa settlement here. The Khumbu region includes the Sagarmatha National Park. It includes the town of Namche Bazar, and villages of Dingboche, Phakding, Pangboche, among others.
